Foothill Baptist Church is a community of Christians who find our purpose in the gospel of Jesus Christ, expressed through biblical worship and discipleship in community.
Our story
Where we’ve been
Foothill Baptist Church was planted in 1954 with 36 charter members. The first 12 years of the church were marked by exceptional growth. In 1956 the church built its first auditorium and Sunday school class rooms. By 1966 the church built a larger auditorium to accommodate the growing congregation which is where we meet today.
Though there were some periods of growth the story after 1966 is a story of decline. By 1992, attendance had fallen to an average of 82 and in 2003 there were just 25. 2004 also marked the last baptism. By spring of 2022 the church had only a handful of members left who were looking for direction.
What’s next
In July of 2022, Foothill Baptist Church entered into a season of renewal and began the process of replanting their church. In July 2025 the church called Jeff Woolstenhulme to be their next Lead Pastor. Jeff officially began his ministry in January of 2026 when his family moved to Los Altos.
